I apologize in advance if there are errors in the translation.

• I only do this in my spare time, which means I don't do it often. But I apologize in advance if the request is not meet in a timely manner.
• I myself, is the only one responsible for all the translations in this website[. I don't copy from others who might've translated the same song. (probably we're that just good! jk)
• I'm Filipino-American and was born in the Philippines. And yes, I do SPEAK and WRITE in Tagalog. I even took 3 semesters of Filipino class in college (don't ask me why). So, if you are still unsure of my credentials as a translator, then feel free to message me.
• I use Tagalog-English dictionary from time to time just to find the appropriate translation for the word.

There are words in Filipino that are the same spelling, but different meanings through emphasis. For example:

basa - emphasis on 1st syllable, means to read
basa - emphasis on 2nd syllable, means wet

pasa - means to pass
pasa - means bruise

there are Tagalog words that when you add another letter in front or back, the meaning would be different. here are some of them:

ama : father / kama : bed / sama : to go/bad / tama : correct

apa : ice cream cone / apat : four

asa : hope / asal: attitude / asam : want / asar : annoy

awa : pity / kawa : cauldron / lawa: lake / tawa: laugh

aso : dog / baso : cup / kaso : case / paso : burn or pot

una : first / unan : pillow / unano : midget / kuna: crib / puna: notice

uno : one / buno : wrestling / bunot : coconut husk

baka : cow / taka : astonish t/ aba : fat / bata : child, young / batak : pull

I was born and grew up in the Philippines. That's the reason why I can speak, read, and write Tagalog.

I never really thought of it as a hard language, until I attended Filipino class in college. It was easy to speak, read, and write, but it was hard to explain the reasons why the sentence have to be in order the way it should be or why we use 'nang, ng, mang, nga, etc".

Relearning the Filipino language gave me pride in my ow language. It was too bad for most Filipino parents living in America that they chose not to teach their children the Filipino language. I was very fortunate because my parents didn't let me forget my own language and where I came from.

I came here in America when I was 12 years old. I needed to fit so bad that I tried my best to learn English quickly. My parents let us talk English outside home, but inside our home, we talk to them in Tagalog.

Learning one's languge is very important. Learning other's language is important is important as well. I want to learn Spanish, French, Italian, Korean, and Mandarin.
